The concert was over and it was already THAT day. My very first assignment as unofficial member of Soldier. All I have to do is act nice, play piano, and listen to the words carefully. Zack's main job was to protect me and be there with me since I'm nervous. He was being funny of how he is proud to be my mentor. Silly Zack, since when you were my mentor? I have to admit that he is pretty silly when it comes to fooling around. What do you expect from a sophomore guy hmmm? We youngsters have right to fool around and express myself. That's all about living right? The uniqueness and difference and expression one's self. Being different is all that matters. Would it be fun to have another's personality and memories? How boring would that be to live like other while you can be creative making your own life? Anyway, back to the topic of today's assignment. I heard there are anti Shinra people attenting the party as well. Zack and I need to figure out who they are and what they are planning on doing. The only thing concerning Lazard, director of Soldier, was Zack's eyes being "different." I think his eyes are cool and it makes me blush whenever he stares at me with them. His eye colors are like the color of ocean. It calms me down whenever I stare into his eyes. Wahhh I'm going off topic again!!!! Zack came to my school again wearing his uniform and asked my classmates where I was. The classmates showed him where the practice rooms were and giggled. He saw me practicing piano for tonight and the moment he grabbed the doorknob he saw me sighing heavily.

"Something matter?" Zack walked in closing the door slowly.
"Wahhh!!!!" I was studdled. "Wha... what are you doing here????"
"To check up on my girl," he said sitting besides me in front of the piano. "Let me try."
"Go ahead," I said. "Just don't break the piano."
"I'm not that strong," he said pressing the keys gently.
"That would be a middle G," I said looking at him.
"You can recognize it by hearing it?" He was surprised.
"Of course," I said. "I've been playing piano since I was 5."
"Wow," he said standing up. "Could you play something for me?"
"What do you want to hear?" I said giving him five different pieces to choose from.
"Uhhhhhhhhhh," Zack flipped through the pieces trying to figure out which one without knowing anything. "Your favorite piece."
"You sure?" I asked.
"Anything's fine," Zack said leaning against the wall. "I just want to hear you play."
"Alright," I said streching my fingers. "I'll play my favorite tune."

I took out a piece from my bag, which wasn't the song am playing for tonight. The song title was "Konna ni Chikaku De..." from Anime series "Nodame Cantabile". It was piano version of it. I knew the lyrics as well so I began to play and sing. The lyrics was about a girl who was having a crush on a guy and she asks why can't we be lovers. It's such a sad song since the guy wants to be friends with her. I felt weird since Zack was listening to me. I was uncomfortable of making mistakes because I wanted to be perfect. But I made couple mistakes like usual and I was not so shocked since I always made mistake on the same spot. After I was done playing, Zack clapped and got off the wall. He found it impressive how my fingers move like a river on so many keys. He and I walked out of the practice room and headed for the school gate. He pulled me closer to him and put his left arm around me. While walking, other girls were staring at me with either eyes of jealousy or eyes of envy. I sighed as the crowds were looking at me. Some of the students were whispering about Zack and how a Soldier was "slacking off". Zack wasn't slacking off; in fact, he was here to protect me incase I get attacked by someone or a random monster appearing out of no where. We continued to walk to the company building where Kimmy was waiting at the briefing room.

"You guys are late!" Kimmy said having her hands to the side. "Dozing around having lovy moments ehhh?"
"No," Zack said. "I asked her to play the piano for me and she did."
"There you go," Kimmy said. "lovy moment..."
"What about you and Miles?" I asked being in a teasy mood.
"Well we've been going out for more than a year," Kimmy said. "For you guys... only 2 weeks!"
"So?" I asked. "That doesn't mean we cannot hang around right, Zack? Zack?"
"We have no time to fool around. If we mess up the assignment tonight the company's in trouble," he said it seriously all of a sudden.
"He's right," Kimmy said. "What a miracle seeing him being all serious for the first time."
"I guess he is pretty warmed up for this," I said being worried.
"I'm sure you'll be fine," Kimmy said looking at me. "You are good at acting just like your twin sister."
"Maybe Aqua would have been more suited one for this type of thing," I sighed.
"But then Mr. Fair's not gonna be happy," Kimmy giggled looking at Zack. "I know he is excited for the dance part."
"...." Zack remained quiet for second. "I'm afraid that I'm going to make fun of myself."
"You were good last time we practiced together," I said remembering a week ago.
"Anyway," Zack sat down at the table looking at Kimmy. "What's the change of plan?"
"Change of plan?" I was surprised.
"Well for Aurora only," Kimmy said putting out a folder. "For the dance, they want you to play these songs... I'm shocked that you won't be dancing with Zack..."
"What's that?" Zack was shocked. "That means..."
"Good luck pleasing other ladies," Kimmy said in a teasing way. "But who knows..."
"Great," Zack sighed. "Now I'm really going to make fun of myself.. everyone's gonna know that I'm a Soldier because of these eyes..."
"I'm sure you'll be fine," I said smiling. "I'll hope for the best so I won't have to play all the time."

The time has come to us to get dressed and go to the party. I was in the bathroom changing while Zack was in his room changing. While he was changing, Angeal was with him in his room giving him advices. Zack was nervous since this mission did not require any fighting and if I get in trouble it is up to him to protect me or rescue me. He looked at himself in the mirror while fixing the collar of his dress shirt. His image in the mirror looked different from the image he is used to seeing with the Soldier uniform on. Angeal then helped him put equipments on for hearing and communicating with Kimmy. Zack took a deep breathe and walked out to where the girl's bathroom was. I wore the dress I bought and Kimmy was doing my hair with the hair pin I've never seen before. She told me that my secret admirer has bought it for me to wear. It was obvious who the secret admirer was so I giggled a bit. I imagined Zack browsing through accessory shop while everyone's eyes are on him. I looked at the hair pin that looked like Japanese style hair pin. It was a bright blue one with snowflake danging. Why snowflake out of all other shapes? I wondered for a second. Kimmy smiled decorating me like I were a bride getting married. She just loves doing this type of things and she told me when I'm getting married she is the one who will do everything to make me look beautiful. I wore white high heels and walked out seeing Zack leaning against the wall with his suit on. I blushed how formal and gentleman-like he looked with the suit unlike his usual self. When he looked at me, I saw his face turning red completely. Kimmy giggled when she saw both of us blushing over one another.

We went to the enterance floor and saw a Limo waiting for us. Kimmy told me to use the communicator when either one of us are in trouble. I doubted I would be in trouble because Zack was with me. Even though he was 2nd class, he was still the greatest to me. I know that he is going to be 1st soon since he is trying his best in training. I hugged the folder tightly shivering a little bit. Zack looked down at me shivering and smiled gently putting his arm around me. I looked away with my face blushed in red. It was like going to the prom or a romantic dinner. The Limo took us to a hotel. As the door opened, Zack got out and grabbed my hand to help me get out. As soon as he faced the driver of the Limo, his facial expression changed completely. It was that man with the pony tail whom I saw before. Zack sighed knowing that he will be watched through out the assignment and he knew that he need to behave in the best of his ability. I felt nervous since this party was for grown up adults; not for us "kids". But truthfully, I was the only kid since I was so short. Zack stood 6ft 3in and he looked a lot maturer than normal 16 year olds, so technically I was the only "kid". As soon as we entered we were greeted by the party hostess. She knew who I was since I was holding the music folder they sent to the company. She then looked up at Zack in a curious way. Zack tried not to make eye contact with the hostess because of his eyes. It was first time the hostess has seen a Soldier member so she was pretty impressed with the eyes that are filled with Mako. The hostess guided me to where the piano was and told me to adjust the chair and everything so I can play comfortably. While I was adjusting and getting used to the piano, I saw Zack being approached by a older looking girl. I decided to ignore the sight since Kimmy told me that Zack CAN be flirteous, but he MIGHT remain loyal to me. Loyal? I don't think that's the right word, but that's what Kimmy said so don't get me wrong.

"Are you alone, cute boy?" An older girl asked Zack who was leaning against the wall with his eyes fixed on me.
"Well for awhile am going to be alone," he said now looking down at the older girl who was next to him.
"A little girl like her is going to be our pianist huh? How ridiculous," she said laughing.
"....." Zack remained silent.
"Could you be..." the older girl said looking at Zack's eyes. "The Soldier boy my mom mentioned couple minutes ago? Those eyes... they are pretty like the rumors stated."
"Yeah," Zack said trying to smile.
"I wonder why such a charming boy like yourself has joined the Soldier... you could have become a star or something with that looks," the older girl giggled as she leaned closer to him. "I'm a locally famous movie star you know."
"Well..." Zack said looking at me. "I joined Soldier because I have a dream... to become a Hero."
"Like Sephiroth?" the older girl asked. "That's a huge dream you are having. Oh pardon me for not introducing myself. Name's Rose. What's yours cutie boy?"
"Zack," Zack said with his eyes fixed on me.
"You interested in her?" Rose asked Zack who was looking at me.
"Well..." Zack blushed looking away.
"I see..." Rose said looking closely at his face. "You are in love with her? Or no?"
"Zack!!!!" I ran towards where he was, but since I was wearing high heels, I was losing my balance. "Uhhh... ohhhh..."
"Aurora!!!!" Zack quickly out off the wall and caught me before I hit the ground. "You should be more careful with the heels on."
"Ah hah..." Rose figured something out as she walked back to where she was before approaching Zack.
"I'm sorry," I said blushing as the crowd was looking at our direction. "I need help adjusting the chair. Can you help me?"
"Sure thing," Zack said helping me stand up.

--- At the Entrance ---

"It seems we found a bait to grab the Soldier boy's attention," Rose said to the gentleman with red hair.
"Oh really?" the gentleman with red hair said to Rose. "That pianist you mean?"
"Yes," Rose said with evil grin on her face. "I think if we get her into trouble he will most likely get emotional"
"So what are we going to do?" the gentleman with red hair said looking at me.
"I'll just have her help me at the end," Rose said.
"Then escort her to the storage room," Professor Ling. "What about the Soldier Operative? Any info on him?"
"Zack, never heard of him, but he doesn't look like a rookie," Rose said. "We will make our move when the party ends."
"Great idea," Professor Ling fixed his glasses.
"A soldier operative in love with a musician hmmm?" Rose said looking at the stage where I was. "Interesting... I wonder how strong their relationship is..."

The party has started and I started playing first Arabesque by Debussy. The people's eyes were all on me who was playing such hard sounding piece by memory. Zack was leaning against the wall smiling at me. He liked me playing and it made him feel all warm inside. He saw Rose approaching him again with a seducive smile on her face. To tell the truth, she was a lot beautiful compared to me. Well let's say that she is beautiful and I'm cute. I just ignored the sight and kept on playing piano, I know that tonight is going to be the longest night ever. I just hope it would be end soon...
