It's my turn -part 2-
Jean fell asleep for abot 3 hours. When he woke up it was past 1, half way through lunch. He saw Ji-Hee sleeping on his desk with the book open.
Wow what a bookworm. She read till the last page before falling asleep. Is biology that interesting I mean I think it's boring with bunch of life form definitions. *yawn*
Even though it'll hurt, Jean laid Ji-Hee on his bed and put blanket on her. Then he heard a doorbell ringing so went downstairs. Instead of wearing shirt, he wore a button shirt with colar. He opened the door and saw Fay carrying something that look like food.
"What do you want?" Jean said.
"I must
tell you something important." Fay said. "Also I bought lunch. Where
is the little girl?"
"Sleeping. Come on in." Jean said.
"So what's going on?"
"Well the thing is, you are about to
get kicked out of school." Fay said.
"What? Why?" Jean said.
"Cause
you are failing in Bioloy, you won't be able to graduate silly!" Fay said.
"Garrr...
that stupid biology!!!!!!" Jean growled.
"I heard that that little
girl is not 12 years old. I heard she is that famous Ji-Hee Choi."
Fay
said grabbing the meat with chopstick. "Is it true?"
"I guess
so. I mean she was totally into my biology book while staying." Jean
said munching.
"Well, probably you can get help from her. If you
pass the final, you can graduate, but if not, you can't." Fay said.
"I'm sure your parents want you to graduate."
"Hope so. So
when is the final?" Jean asked stretching again.
"2 monthes from
now. Could you ask her when she wakes up?" Fay said.
"Sure I guess."
Jean said.
"I see you got hurt. Are you alright?" Fay asked looking
at his bandaged up body.
"I'm okay I guess. One of the guy just stabbed into
my chest." Jean said. "But I'm alright. Don't worry."
"You
think you are okay, but you don't look alright. Are you guys coming to school
tomorrow?"
Fay asked.
"Me and the girl? I think she could go, I don't know about
me." Jean said. "I can't wear anything above this."
"Just
don't button your shirt then. It won't be appropriate, but the teachers will
understand." Fay said smiling.
"It will attract other girls."
Jean sighed.
Ji-Hee woke up around 2:00 PM, she heard girl's voice downstairs from where she was. She carefully came downstairs and saw Fay. Fay was sitting in front of Jean who was busy eating his lunch, which Fay brought it for him. He smiled and signed Ji-Hee to come downstairs. Ji-Hee sat down next to Jean and looked at Fay. The way she was looking at Ji-Hee was like her mother looking at her. She felt warm looking at Fay's face, remembering all those good days staying with mom. Ji-Hee looked up at Fay and smiled just ilke shedid to her mom every single morning. Fay also smiled at her, taking out a plastic box out of the bag.
"Here, I brought your lunch as well, Ji-Hee." Fay
said smiling.
"Thank you." Ji-Hee said opening the box. "Wow!"
"I
don't know whether you'll like it, it's Jean's favorite food." Fay smiled
looking at Jean.
"I don't mind anything, thank you for counting
me in." Ji-Hee smiled.
"Just like Lan's description, you are cute
as I thought." Fay put her hands in front of her mouth.
"Huh?"
Ji-Hee was puzzled.
"Nothing, just you are cute." Fay kept on smiling
at Ji-Hee. "So how was spending time with Jean?"
"It
was fun actually. I learned a lot about life in cities spending time with him."
Ji-Hee said. "I came from little town 20 minutes away."
"Yes,
I know all about you Ji-Hee-chan. Infact, Jean, don't you have something to
say?" Fay looked at Jean who was busy eating.
"WheaydouIesay?"
Jean was saying with his mouthfull.
"Do you have something to say
to Ji-Hee and don't speak with your mouth full, you are one disgusting beast
talking like that." Fay said.
"Okay. I need YOU to tutor me in
Biology." Jean said looking straight at Ji-Hee's eyes.
"Hum?"
Ji-Hee said putting a spood full of rice inside her mouth.
"Jean is
failing in Biology, you know this process." Fay said sighing.
"Oh!
Graduation requirement!!!" Ji-Hee said. "I cannot let that happen.
Sure I'll help you for sure."
"Great! I'm glad that you are
going to help him out." Fay said. "Let's see though, since you
can't walk around at night with that little body, why not you go to her house?"
"What?
Can't she live with me?" Jean said like a little boy bagging for something.
"What
do you mean 'live' with her?" Fay asked.
"For the two days I was
with her, I felt happy. After she joined me at this house, the atmosphere
grew brighter. I want her to stay with me." Jean said.
"Jean,
but she has her own home. Besides, you go to the gym, after dinner for one hour right? Then after that you can go to Ji-Hee's house. Or maybe, hmmm...
how about this. Jean goes to gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after
school.
On those days, Jean could go to your house, Ji-Hee, then Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday, Jean and you could walk together to Jean's house."
Fay said snapping her finger.
"Sounds good to me, I'll get embarrassed."
Jean blushed a little.
"Jean, learning is never embarrassing, besides,
tomorrow WILL be the most embarrasing moment of your life." Fay winked
at Jean.
"Shut up! I don't care, I'm proud walkin' around like THIS!!!"
Jean said it loud.
Ji-Hee finally became much much better so she decided to
head back home. Jean gave Ji-Hee a plastic bag with her uniform shirt
inside. He told Ji-Hee that the uniform is still wet and she could just
wear his shirt back home. It was late at night about 8:00PM. Jean
snapped
his finger and went upstairs to grab a jacket. He came downstairs wearing a
jacket over his wounded body and decided to walk Ji-Hee home so he could
know where she lives. Jean was lucky because he knew where Jean's house
was. Ji-Hee's house was right next to Jean's house. When they arrived, Jean
came out of his house and saw Ji-Hee and Jean together.
"Ji-Hee! There you are!!!" Rick ran and hugged
her tightly. "I was wondering where you were."
"I was at Jean's
house getting treated." Ji-Hee said.
"You know the punks, they
got her injured just because she go to our school." Rick said.
"I
see, well I'm glad that you are okay." Rick said. "Thank you Jean."
"No
prob. See you all tomorrow." Jean started walking back.
"Ji-Hee
wanna have a talk inside with tea?" Rick invited Ji-Hee.
"Sure,
I'll go after I drop these off." Ji-Hee said going into her house.
The plastic bag felt little havey for a wet shirt. When she lifted up the shirt to dry it up, she saw Jean's biology book. Jean happen to have two biology book: one used by Fay and one the new one. It was the new one without stratch. Her eyes twinkled as she looked at the cover of the book. She grabbed the book and put it on her small bookshelf dedicated to biology books. After that, she went next door to Jean's house to have a little talk. Jean was wearing his jams, boiling water for the tea.
"What tea do you like?" Rick asked.
"Any
tea, I like milk tea." Ji-Hee said smiling.
"I do have milk tea,
okay I'll get the tea ready then." Rick went back to the kitchen.
"Thank
you." Ji-Hee said when Jean came back with a tray.
"Your welcome.
So how was living with Jean. He scareds you huh?" Rick asked.
"Not
at all, he is totally my dream guy. I mean he is good looking, strong, kinda
nice.. I love those guys who would beat others who annoy me." Ji-Hee
blushed a little.
"I see... It will be hard to get his attention at
school though, he is surrounded by guys." Rick said. "And those
guys are big and scary as well."
"It's alright, I'm his biology
tutor, he has to pay attention to me anyway." Ji-Hee smiled.
"You
what? You are kidding right? There is no way he is patient enough to sit down
and
study." Rick said with a word 'unbelievable' written all over his face.
"It's
alright, I know it would be hard for me, but I decide to give it a shot."
Ji-Hee sighed.
"Well good luck with that. He is lucky to have a tutor
half his size." Rick giggled.
"Hey! That's not funny!" Ji-Hee
said. "Anyways, how have you been?"
"Good I guess, I was really
worried about you. You never showed up after your very first class." Rick said.
"I see, yes, first day unfortunate event." Ji-Hee said.
"Could you explain what's going on between these two schools?"
"Oh
that, it's a city thing. Guys want power, those guys want to overule our gang,
which we won't allow so we kept on fighting for power. Obviously Jean is
strong enough to take those guys by himself." Rick said sipping.
"That's not
true!" Ji-Hee jumped in before Rick finished his sentence. "Even though
he says it doesn't hurt a bit, his wounds were severe, to be a leader, he
hides everything from you and the others."
"I know that, but
he is strong and quick. I wish I were a good fighter like him. You saw him walking
around shirtless in his house right? His body is like steel. You should see
him working out, he can lift you very easily. I can't catch up with him."
Rick said looking down.
"Don't worry, being strong isn't the whole thing.
I'm just a girl filled with dreams that won't come true." Ji-Hee smiled.
"What
do you mean?" Rick asked.
"I've always wanted a boyfriend, but
boys all avoided me because they hate smart girls." Ji-Hee said. "I
bet Jean would be the same."
"I guess so." Rick said. "Well,
I heard from Lan that Jean has a split personality."
"He does
actually and you won't imagine what he does at his house." Ji-Hee smiled
again.
"I see, let's see... don't tell me he huggles with plushies?"
Rick kept his laughing inside.
"No, that would be really awkward."
Ji-Hee smiled imagining Jean hugging a plushie.
"Well I can imagine
you doing it." Rick laughed.
The night grew darker and darker, Ji-Hee finally came back home. She changed into her jams and looked at Jean's T-shirt that she was borrowing it from him. It was indeed huge compare to her own T-shirt. She smiled and said to herself: 'of course it is big, he is a senior guy and I'm just 12 year old girl.' Ji-Hee looked at the fullmoon and smiled as if she was looking at Jean's face. She said goodnight outloud then lay down on her bed with eyes closed.
Thank you Jean! Like you saved me in the reality world, I'll save you from the biology world. Good night Jean, hope to see you tomorrow. Good night Jean, hope you will wait for me out-side my door in the morning. Good night mom, hope everything is going well for you.
